Mutxamel gives the green light to the redevelopment of Río Park after 50 years of waiting
Mutxamel moves forward with the urban redevelopment of Río Park, an area awaiting modernisation for five decades.
After half a century of waiting, Mutxamel has taken a decisive step to transform the Río Park area with a new urban redevelopment plan. The initiative seeks to make this part of the municipality more sustainable, which has been dragging structural problems for decades.
The modification of the general plan will allow the updating of infrastructure and services in an area that was developed in the 1970s without meeting current urban planning standards. Residents have been calling for improvements to access roads, green spaces and facilities for years.
The project represents a fundamental change in the municipality’s territorial management, which will now be able to apply modern criteria of sustainability and urban quality. The initial approval of the plan allows the administrative process to begin, which will culminate in the definitive transformation of the area.
