Torrevieja begins construction of 36 council homes out of a total of 822 planned for 2028
The Generalitat Valenciana has announced the start of the Plan Vive in Torrevieja with the first 36 social housing units, part of a total project of 822 expected to be completed by 2028.
The Generalitat Valenciana presented this Friday the start of construction work on the Plan Vive in Torrevieja, a programme announced two years ago with the aim of building 822 publicly protected homes in the municipality.
Mayor Eduardo Dolón was the first to sign up to this regional government project when it was launched in July 2024. The President of the Consell, Juanfran Pérez Llorca, guaranteed that the 822 planned homes will become a reality before 2028.
So far, construction has begun on the first 36 council homes, marking the effective start of the ambitious social housing plan in the coastal town.
This project seeks to respond to the growing demand for affordable housing in Torrevieja, one of the most populous municipalities in the Vega Baja.
