Aagesen confirms imminent start of Tajo-Segura Transfer reform without specifying dates

The Minister for Ecological Transition, Sara Aagesen, has confirmed that the start of the reform of the Tajo-Segura Transfer will take place in the “near” future, although without setting specific dates for the process.

According to statements by the minister, the coming weeks will be decisive for this water infrastructure that supplies the Segura basin, vital for the province of Alicante and other areas of south-eastern Spain.

The reform of the Transfer is a matter of great relevance for farmers and residents of the Costa Blanca, where water from the Tajo constitutes an essential resource for agriculture and urban consumption. The lack of concrete deadlines generates uncertainty in the sector.
