The CHS receives recognition from the King for its centenary

The Confederación Hidrográfica del Segura has been recognised by King Felipe VI upon reaching one hundred years since its creation.

The Confederación Hidrográfica del Segura (CHS) has received recognition from King Felipe VI on the occasion of the centenary of its foundation. The body, created a century ago, manages the water resources of the Segura basin, which covers a large part of the province of Alicante.

The ceremony celebrates the CHS’s century-long work in water management, a vital resource for agriculture, tourism and daily life on the Costa Blanca. The organisation has been key to projects such as the Tajo-Segura water transfer.

This recognition highlights the historical importance of water management in a region characterised by water scarcity and its dependence on external resources for economic and social development.
