Altea reaches a historic milestone by securing four Blue Flags for its beaches after recovering the distinction for Platja de l'Espigó.
Altea has achieved four Blue Flags for its beaches for the first time in its history, a recognition that certifies the environmental quality and services of its coastline.
The municipality has recovered the distinction for Platja de l’Espigó, which joins the three beaches that already held this international award in previous editions.
Blue Flags are a distinction granted by the Foundation for Environmental Education that evaluates aspects such as water quality, environmental management, safety and services offered to bathers.
This achievement reinforces Altea’s tourist appeal and confirms the municipality’s commitment to sustainability and excellence in the management of its coastal areas.
