Nearly 250 Young People Take Part in the 7th Inter-School Chess Tournament in Elche
The Pedro Ibarra secondary school in Elche hosted the regional school chess tournament with the participation of nearly 250 students from twenty educational centres in the Baix Vinalopó area.
The Patio de las Moreras at the Pedro Ibarra secondary school in Elche became the setting for the 7th edition of the Inter-School Chess Tournament of the Baix Vinalopó area on Friday 24th April.
The competition brought together nearly 250 young chess players from twenty educational centres in the region, accompanied by 40 teachers responsible for the participating teams.
This school event has experienced notable growth since its beginnings, when it started with a much more modest format. The initiative demonstrates the rise of educational chess in the area.
The tournament consolidates its position as one of the main school sporting events in the Baix Vinalopó area, promoting intellectual development and healthy competition amongst students.
