Conflict between hospitality owner, Ayuntamiento and Federació over occupation of Luceros during mascletás
A hospitality business owner in Alicante is facing off against the Ayuntamiento and Federació de Fogueres over the management of space in Luceros square during the Hogueras mascletás.
A conflict has erupted in Alicante between a hospitality establishment owner and the institutions organising the Hogueras over the occupation of public space in Luceros square during the mascletás.
The hospitality owner is challenging the conditions imposed by the Ayuntamiento and Federació de Fogueres for the use of the area during these pyrotechnic events, which bring together thousands of people daily in the emblematic Alicante square.
The confrontation highlights the tensions between commercial interests and the management of public space during the festivities, one of the busiest times for tourists and residents in the provincial capital.
Both the council and the Federació are defending their position regarding the organisation of the event, whilst the affected party maintains her demands concerning the use of her business during Hogueras.
