Man convicted of killing his ex-partner's cat arrested in Torrevieja to enforce deportation
The Policía Nacional arrested the abuser sentenced to five years' expulsion for aggravated animal cruelty and vicarious violence after beating his ex-partner's cat to death.
The Policía Nacional arrested a man in Torrevieja on Monday who had been sentenced by a local court to five years’ expulsion from the country. The individual had been found responsible for aggravated animal cruelty and gender-based violence in the form of vicarious violence.
The facts date back to when the convicted man beat his ex-partner’s cat to death in a public street. The court ordered his immediate deportation to his country of origin as part of the sentence.
Following the arrest, the man was placed at the disposal of the judicial authorities to enforce the expulsion ordered by the Torrevieja court. The police action enables the execution of the sentence that had remained pending.
