Two distributors of fake €200 notes arrested in Alicante and Murcia
The Policía Nacional has arrested a man and a woman for putting high-quality counterfeit 200-euro notes into circulation.
The Policía Nacional has arrested two people accused of distributing fake 200-euro notes considered to be among the best counterfeits in Europe. Those arrested, a man and a woman, allegedly formed part of a criminal network dedicated to introducing these notes into the financial system.
The operation took place across the provinces of Alicante and Murcia, where the detainees had reportedly been distributing the counterfeit currency. The authorities highlight the high quality of the counterfeits, which made their detection difficult.
The investigation continues in order to completely dismantle the network and determine the scope of the criminal operation. Security forces are working to identify other possible individuals involved in the fake note distribution network.
