Education department to replace 290 resigning head teachers in Valencian schools and colleges
The Conselleria de Educación will replace all management teams who resigned after failing to reach agreement on teachers' labour demands.
The Conselleria de Educación has announced it will replace the 290 head teachers and senior staff at schools and colleges across the Comunidad Valenciana who tendered their resignations in recent days. The wave of departures followed the breakdown of negotiations to address teachers’ labour demands.
The resigning management teams expressed their discontent at the lack of institutional response to the education sector’s demands. The crisis affects educational centres throughout the region, including the province of Alicante.
The Conselleria will work on appointing new leaders to ensure schools continue to operate normally. Authorities are seeking to resolve the situation before the start of the next academic year, though the scale of the resignations poses a significant organisational challenge for the Valencian education administration.
