Elche's bipartisan government to amend General Plan to regulate airport car parks
Elche's local government plans to amend the General Plan to regulate the hundred or so private car parks located next to Alicante-Elche airport.
Elche’s bipartisan government has announced that it will amend the municipal General Plan to regulate the hundred or so private car parks located in the vicinity of Alicante-Elche airport.
Currently, the Town Hall is processing ten inspections related to these car parks, which operate on land near the airport facilities. The urban planning situation of these parking areas has generated concern at the council.
The modification of the urban planning scheme seeks to establish a clear regulatory framework for these spaces, which provide services to airport passengers but currently lack specific regulations.
The measure affects a strategic area shared between Elche and Alicante, where long-stay car parks for travellers have proliferated.
