Students from Miguel Hernández University present their efficient vehicle prototype to compete in one of the most prestigious international sustainable motoring competitions.
A team of students from Miguel Hernández University (UMH) in Elche presented the Dátil’26 on Tuesday, the prototype they will compete with in the Shell Eco-Marathon Europe and Africa 2026.
The presentation took place at the Elche campus, where the UMH Team showcased their design and development work on this highly energy-efficient vehicle.
The Shell Eco-Marathon is one of the leading international competitions in efficient motoring, where university teams from across Europe and Africa compete to demonstrate who can travel the greatest distance using the least amount of energy.
The project represents an opportunity for students to apply technical knowledge in engineering and sustainability, whilst testing their skills in a competitive international environment.
