Alicante folklore takes over Avenida de la Constitución on the eve of Hogueras

Alicante’s Avenida de la Constitución was transformed for a few hours into the perfect setting to celebrate the city’s most deep-rooted customs, on the eve of the official start of Hogueras de San Juan.

The event brought together various manifestations of Alicante folklore, offering residents and visitors a preview of the festive atmosphere that characterises these celebrations, which have been declared of International Tourist Interest.

The celebration forms part of the preparatory events that precede the main days of Hogueras, which this year promise to fill the streets of Alicante with music, tradition and colour.

This type of event helps to keep local traditions alive and to involve the community in the city’s patron saint celebrations.
