IES Las Espeñetas in Orihuela has been propped up for three years with no news of refurbishment
The secondary school has been shored up since September 2023 without the promised rehabilitation works having begun.
IES Las Espeñetas in Orihuela has remained propped up since September 2023, nearly three years on, without any news having been received about the start of the necessary refurbishment works.
The safety structures installed nearly three years ago highlight structural problems in the building that require urgent intervention. Despite the time that has elapsed, the education authority has provided no information about when the works will begin.
The situation concerns the school’s educational community, which is calling for a definitive solution to guarantee the safety of students and staff. The lack of action is creating uncertainty about the future of the Orihuela secondary school.
The centre continues to operate with provisional reinforcement measures whilst awaiting comprehensive intervention to resolve the problems identified three years ago.
