Elche has celebrated the 25th anniversary of the declaration of the Misteri d’Elx as a UNESCO World Heritage Site with a unique display of 180 drones in the sky above Traspalacio.
The event recreated the most recognisable scenes of La Festa using unmanned aircraft with vibrant colours, offering a modern vision of this medieval sacred performance that takes place each August in the Basílica de Santa María.
The innovative proposal combines tradition and technology, bringing the iconic images of the Elche liturgical-musical drama to a spectacular format that has captivated the attending public.
This commemorative celebration underscores the cultural importance of the Misteri, one of the oldest performances in Europe and a symbol of identity for the people of Elche.
