Sabadell to decide whether to keep the San Fernando street library open in Alicante
The University of Alicante's departure from the historic building leaves the future of the library that operated on its premises in doubt following a decade-long agreement with the bank.
The University of Alicante (UA) has left the historic building on San Fernando street after ten years of an agreement with Banco Sabadell. The decision leaves the future of the library that operated in these facilities uncertain.
It now falls to Sabadell to determine whether to keep the library space open to the public or whether it will use the property for other purposes. The library was used by both students and city residents.
The building on San Fernando street has been a cultural reference point in Alicante for years. The university and neighbourhood community hopes to learn soon of the bank’s decision regarding the future of this space.
