TJCV upholds €135,000 fine against Acciona for breaching refuse collection in Torrevieja
The regional court confirms the first monthly sanction imposed on the company for service deficiencies detected in July 2023.
The High Court of Justice of the Valencian Community has upheld the first monthly fine of €135,000 imposed on Acciona for breaches in the refuse collection and street cleaning service in Torrevieja.
The sanction relates to July 2023, when a specialist company audited for the first time the contract that Acciona had begun a year earlier. The inspection detected numerous deficiencies in the provision of the service.
This court ruling confirms the penalties imposed by Torrevieja town council and sets an important precedent in demanding quality in contracted municipal services.
Acciona must pay the fine after exhausting the appeals process before the regional court, which has endorsed the council’s decision to sanction the contractual breaches.
