Alicante wine sector anticipates promising harvest with 20 million kilos of grapes
Thirty-three wineries celebrated the Winecanting 2026 event at the Port of Alicante, expressing optimism about a harvest expected to reach 20 million kilos of grapes.
Wineries in the province of Alicante celebrated the grand wine festival, Winecanting 2026, at the Port of Alicante this Thursday. The gathering brought together 33 wineries in an atmosphere of optimism regarding the prospects for the upcoming harvest.
Forecasts indicate a harvest that will once again reach 20 million kilos of grapes, enabling an estimated production of 115,000 hectolitres. These figures reflect a positive recovery for Alicante’s wine-growing sector.
The event served as a showcase to demonstrate the quality and diversity of the province’s wines, consolidating the sector’s position at a time of growth. Participating wineries emphasised the importance of maintaining local wine-making traditions whilst adapting to new market demands.
