PP and PSOE clash over public housing at Benidorm council meeting

Benidorm's ordinary council meeting saw tensions rise when the issue of public housing sparked a bitter exchange of blame between the PP and PSOE.

Monday’s ordinary council meeting in Benidorm witnessed moments of high tension due to the debate on public housing. What was expected to be a routine session turned into an intense confrontation between the two main municipal groups.

The problem of access to housing triggered an exchange of accusations between the PP and PSOE over management and responsibilities regarding public housing in the tourist municipality.

The plenary session highlighted the profound differences between both parties regarding housing policies, an increasingly sensitive issue on the Costa Blanca due to property development and tourism pressure.

The debate reflects the political tensions surrounding one of the most pressing problems for residents and workers in tourist towns such as Benidorm.
