The discovery surprised users of this popular Alicante beach, who alerted the authorities about the presence of the lifeless animal.
Sea turtles are protected species in the Mediterranean, and their appearance on the Alicante coast, whilst infrequent, is not entirely unusual. It is expected that the relevant authorities will examine the specimen to determine the cause of death.
Urbanova beach is one of the busiest in Alicante, especially during the summer months.
