Dead turtle found on Urbanova beach in Alicante

Beachgoers enjoying Urbanova beach in Alicante this Friday came across an unexpected scene: the body of a turtle on the shore.

The discovery surprised users of this popular Alicante beach, who alerted the authorities about the presence of the lifeless animal.

Sea turtles are protected species in the Mediterranean, and their appearance on the Alicante coast, whilst infrequent, is not entirely unusual. It is expected that the relevant authorities will examine the specimen to determine the cause of death.
