A jury has declared two defendants guilty of killing, dismembering and burning the man with whom they lived in the Virgen del Carmen neighbourhood of Alicante. The verdict was reached by seven votes in favour and two against.
The events occurred in June 2024, when the defendants shared a home with the victim. After committing the crime, they proceeded to dismember the body and set it on fire in an attempt to eliminate the evidence.
Now, following the jury’s verdict, it will be for the court to pass sentence and determine the corresponding penalties for those convicted. The case has shocked the local community due to the brutality of the events.
