100-bed expansion of Elche's Hospital del Vinalopó awaits council permits
Hospital del Vinalopó is working on the design of an annexe building to expand its capacity by more than 100 beds, but works depend on procedures and permits from the Ayuntamiento.
Elche’s Hospital Universitario del Vinalopó is moving forward with a project to expand its hospitalisation capacity by more than 100 new beds through an annexe building to the current facility.
The health centre is currently in the design phase for the new building, but the actual start of works remains on hold pending completion of the necessary administrative procedures.
The main delay lies in obtaining the council permits required to begin construction of the hospital expansion.
This expansion represents a significant improvement in the hospital’s care capacity, serving a wide catchment area in the south of Alicante province.
