The Calvo Sotelo bonfire completes the crowning piece missing since 2004, 22 years later
The Calvo Sotelo bonfire installs the upper crowning piece that artist Pedro Soriano was unable to place in 2004 due to technical problems.
The Hoguera Calvo Sotelo completed the plantà of its monument this Thursday with a historic detail: the installation of the upper crowning piece that artist Pedro Soriano designed 22 years ago but was never able to place.
In 2004, technical problems prevented the piece from crowning the original bonfire. Two decades later, the committee has recovered that outstanding element and integrated it into the current plantà.
The initiative pays tribute to the work of the faller artist and closes an unfinished chapter in the history of this Alicante bonfire.
The plantà of the Hogueras de San Juan continues these days in different neighbourhoods of Alicante, in the prelude to the official festivities which begin next week.
