Dénia beaches incorporate magnets in screening machines to remove hazardous metal waste
Beach cleaning machines in Dénia now use magnets to extract hazardous metal objects from the sand.
Dénia beaches have improved their cleaning system with a technological innovation: the screening machines that clean the sand now incorporate powerful magnets to remove metal waste.
This measure seeks to eliminate hazardous objects such as cans, bottle caps, nails and other metal fragments that can pose a risk to bathers and visitors, especially children playing in the sand.
The incorporation of magnets into the screening machines allows for more effective and safer cleaning of the beaches, complementing the traditional sand filtering system. This initiative forms part of the Ayuntamiento’s efforts to keep the beaches in optimal condition during the summer season.
The magnetic technology facilitates the separation of metals without damaging other natural elements of the beach, such as the oceanic posidonia that washes up on the shore.
