Ninots from Diputació-Renfe and Sagrada Familia saved from flames in Hogueras 2026
Alicante now knows the pardoned ninots that will escape being burnt in the Hogueras de San Juan 2026.
The Hogueras de San Juan in Alicante now have their ninots saved from this year’s cremà. The ninots from the Diputació-Renfe and Sagrada Familia hogueras have been pardoned by popular vote and will be spared from the flames.
Every year, before the night of San Juan, the people of Alicante vote to save one ninot from each category from the traditional burning. The pardoned ninots become part of the permanent collection at the Hogueras Museum.
This tradition allows some of the finest artistic pieces created for the festivities to be preserved. The saved ninots represent the work of the falla artists and become a historical record of each year’s Hogueras.
The Hogueras de San Juan 2026 continue their programme with various festive events until the night of 24th June, when fire will take centre stage for the cremà.
