Environment Department removes dozens of dead pine trees in Benidorm to prevent fires
The Generalitat extends the removal of dead trees in Serra Gelada to the municipality of Benidorm after working in l'Alfàs del Pi.
The Generalitat Valenciana has begun a new phase of forestry work in the Serra Gelada Natural Park, now focusing on the municipality of Benidorm.
The operation involves the removal of dozens of dead pine trees as a preventative measure against forest fires. This work follows an initial similar intervention carried out in the neighbouring municipality of l’Alfàs del Pi.
The removal of dead trees aims to reduce the fuel load in the natural park, thereby minimising the risk of fire spread during the months of greatest danger.
These prevention efforts form part of the strategy of the Conselleria de Medio Ambiente to protect the province’s natural areas ahead of the fire season.
