The waters off Alicante, Murcia and the Balearics are hosting an advanced multinational mine warfare exercise (ESP MINEX-26) organised by the Spanish Navy from this Monday. The operation will run until 8th May.
Eleven vessels from various countries will dock for three days at the port of Alicante as part of these military manoeuvres. The exercise is an annual event and is led by Spain.
This international naval activity offers an opportunity to observe different military vessels in the city. The manoeuvres focus on specialised techniques for detecting and neutralising sea mines.
The presence of these vessels forms part of military cooperation between allied countries and the joint training of participating naval forces in maritime security operations.
