Police arrest 80 people in anti-drugs operation in English zone pubs of Benidorm
The March police operation against drug trafficking in leisure venues in Benidorm culminates with 80 arrests, including owners and security managers of seven establishments.
The Policía Nacional has concluded the operation against drug trafficking carried out in March in pubs and nightclubs in the English zone of Benidorm, with a total of 80 people arrested.
Amongst those arrested are two businessman brothers, owners of the seven establishments under investigation, as well as two other brothers who were in charge of security and public relations for these leisure venues.
The operation focused on several pubs and nightclubs in the area frequented by British tourists in Benidorm, where the authorities detected activities related to the sale and distribution of narcotic substances.
The police intervention forms part of ongoing efforts to combat drug trafficking in tourist areas of the Costa Blanca, especially in areas with a high concentration of nightlife venues.
