First real step towards Torrellano bypass to connect Alicante airport
The process begins to build the Torrellano railway bypass, which will allow the dismantling of current tracks and improve the connection to the airport.
The Torrellano railway bypass project takes a decisive step towards becoming a reality. This infrastructure of more than ten kilometres will make it possible to remove the train tracks that currently run through the urban centre of Torrellano, a district of Elche.
The new connection will significantly improve access to Alicante-Elche airport and eliminate the architectural barriers that currently divide the neighbourhood. The dismantling of the urban tracks will free up spaces for public use and improve mobility for residents.
This project has been under study for years and forms part of efforts to modernise railway infrastructure in the area. The bypass will benefit both residents of Torrellano and airport users and train passengers.
The initiative represents a significant investment in connectivity and urban development for the Alicante-Elche metropolitan area.
