Prison for man accused of burning vehicles and threatening neighbours in Callosa de Segura
A man has been remanded in prison accused of setting fire to several vehicles and making threats against residents in Callosa de Segura.
The Guardia Civil has arrested a man in Callosa de Segura, a town in the Vega Baja del Segura, for his alleged involvement in several vehicle fires and threats to residents in the area.
After being brought before a court, the magistrate ordered provisional imprisonment for the detained man, considering the seriousness of the reported incidents and the risk of reoffending.
Residents had expressed their concern about the successive fires and the intimidating behaviour they had been suffering. The authorities continue to investigate the details of the case and the possible connection of the accused with other incidents recorded in the municipality.
Callosa de Segura, situated in the interior of the province of Alicante, has a population of close to 18,000 inhabitants.
