The Entrada de Bandas of the Hogueras de San Juan in Alicante 2026 witnessed an unprecedented protest: the musical ensembles only performed their pieces during the final stretch of the route, from the Casa de la Festa to the grandstand on Rambla de Méndez Núñez.
The decision was taken as a show of discontent over administrative obstacles imposed by the Ayuntamiento, which have generated dissatisfaction amongst the bands taking part in the festivities.
This form of protest limited the traditional musical spectacle that accompanies the parade, concentrating all the music in the last segment of the festive route.
The Entrada de Bandas constitutes one of the most emblematic events of the Hogueras de San Juan, where the musical ensembles usually parade through the streets of central Alicante.
