Health Department Announces 800 Medical Posts by Merit Competition Without Examination from 2027
The Conselleria de Sanidad opens a call to fill more than 800 hard-to-fill posts through merit competition, without a competitive examination.
The Conselleria de Sanidad of the Valencian Community has launched an extraordinary process to fill more than 800 hard-to-fill medical posts from 2027 onwards.
The chosen system is merit competition, which allows the selection of candidates without the need to pass a traditional competitive examination. Applicants will be assessed exclusively on their professional experience, training, and other verifiable merits.
This approach aims to speed up recruitment in areas and specialities where there is a chronic shortage of healthcare professionals. The call is now open and seeks to stabilise staffing in the Valencian public health system.
The measure affects the entire Valencian Community, including health centres and hospitals in the province of Alicante, where the shortage of specialist doctors is particularly acute in certain districts.
