Alicante taxi driver reports colleague for assault at Puerta del Mar
A 68-year-old taxi driver was assaulted by another taxi driver on 1st May at the taxi rank in Plaza Puerta del Mar.
Noureddine Ammouche, a 68-year-old taxi driver, reported being assaulted by a colleague on 1st May at the taxi rank next to the Hotel Meliá Alicante, in Plaza Puerta del Mar.
According to the complaint filed, the incident occurred at around 11 o’clock in the morning, when the complainant was working at the rank. The alleged attacker punched him and spat in his face.
The incident reflects tensions amongst taxi professionals in the city. The complaint has been lodged with the competent authorities, who will have to investigate the exact circumstances of the assault.
The case highlights workplace conflicts that occasionally arise in Alicante’s taxi sector, although physical assaults between colleagues are infrequent.
