Vandalism and litter blight Elche's newly renovated Jardín de Germanías
Elche's recently renovated Jardín de Germanías is facing problems with vandalism and litter shortly after its reopening.
The Jardín de Germanías in Elche, which underwent recent renovation, is suffering acts of vandalism and accumulating litter, according to complaints from residents and users of the space.
The situation is particularly concerning given that the garden has only just been refurbished, with public investment aimed at improving the facilities and environment for citizens’ enjoyment.
Problems reported include damage to street furniture, graffiti and accumulated rubbish, generating discontent amongst residents who had been looking forward to enjoying a renewed public space in good condition.
The local community is calling for greater surveillance and maintenance of the area to preserve the improvements made and ensure the garden can fulfil its function as a recreational space for Elche residents.
